About Dormitory Network
  • 17 dormitories of NYCU are located in Boai and Guangfu campuses. The network of each dormitory is connected to ITSC with fiber.
  • At the Boai and Guangfu campuses dormitories, except for some public areas, wireless internet service is currently not available.
  • After changing the network interface card's IP mode to automatically obtain an IP (DHCP), you can directly access the internet.
How to use the dormitory network?
  • Student Dormitory Network Connection Setup (Windows)
    • Right-click on the network connection icon, then select "Open Network & Internet settings" to open the network settings windows.

    • Click on "Change adapter options" from the options on the left.

    • Right-click on the "Local Area Connection" or "Ethernet" icon, and then click "Properties".

    • Among the properties of the Local Area Connection, select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", and then click the "Properties" .

    • Check for "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically", then click "OK"

      • Select the "Apple menu" → "System Preferences..."

      • Click on "Network"
      • Choose the network connection you want to use from the list (e.g., Ethernet).

      • Select "Using DHCP".

      • Select the "Apple menu" → "System Setting..."

      • Click on "Network"
      • Choose the USB 10/100/1000 LAN.

Dormitory Network Report for Repair Procedure
  1. Please login NYCU portal first, and click “NYCU Information Service Tracking System”.
  2. You can proceed to register for repairs.
    • Each field marked * must be filled reliably. Moreover, the incident description shall be written as detailed as possible to assist engineers to judge the situation.
    • For the convenience to communicate with you, please register your mobile phone number. Otherwise, ITSC can only contact you with email.
  3. You can also call the campus extension 31888 to consult with the service counter at the service center.
